Kiwi Success At Vertical Blue 2008 Freediving Competition

11-04-2008

Kiwi freedivers have shown the rest of the world, that when it comes to Freediving, we are undoubtedly amongst the best. Today, William Trubridge has set his 4th world record at this competition, with a Free Immersion dive to -108m. Kathryn McPhee has extended her CNF national records a further 2 times with dives to 48m and 50m respectively and also extended her constant weight record to 65m. Kerian Hibbs has set a new national Variable weight record of 74m. With the world freediving teams event coming up in a few short months, our athletes will now be training for selection in the team to go to Egypt to represent New Zealand, a team that by all accounts will be hot competition for the other competing countries.
