Double World Record Attempt Announcement

After her success at the recent Apneists’ Challenge Freediving Competition at Trust Porirua Aquatic Centre, Wellington freediver Kathryn Mcphee (28) has annoucned a world record attempt in the freediving discipline Dynamic without fins (DNF) in August.

Mcphee recently broke her own DNF record extending it out to 150m, which is also one metre further than the current world record. Alongside Mcphee, David Mullins, already a world record holder in Dynamic With Fins( DYN ) has also announced a world record attempt. Mullins (27) last year broke the DYN record with an amazing 244m dive – this was 17m further than the record he set two days earlier of 226m.

Both divers will attempt their world records at the Wellington Winter Champs being held at Trust Porirua Aquatic Centre and Naenae Olympic Pool 8th – 13th August 2008
